Hi everyone,
We have a very important announcement that will affect 99% of our users directly. It looks like OVH has canceled all the servers of Flits Wallet that run there. We are not sure what has gone wrong exactly but it looks like they messed something up when transferring the account to Decenomy. As a result around 5000 to 6000 master nodes have gone offline and are beyond recovery. Not only the master nodes servers have been affected: the block explorers, app server (online again), block books, almost the whole Flits Wallet operation has been affected. We are currently trying to force things online again to get the app back up.
With this amount of servers offline we are not able to redeploy these nodes to the new system with Contabo, as they will not have the capacity to deliver this amount of servers to host the 6000 master nodes that went offline.
This is the third time that Flits Wallet has fallen victim to OVH's negligence and we are not planning on doing any business with them anymore in the future. We rather focus on using this unpleasant situation to move away from OVH as far as possible and focus on the new system with other hosting partners. To resolve the issue as soon as possible for our users we will recover the server contracts with OVH as that is the only way to get the number of servers required to restart the master nodes that have gone offline. After that, we will start working on a new system, based on the latest deployment system, but with even more improvements so we can get less dependent in situations like these. And masternode hosting will be quicker, more stable and better optimized.
As communication is key in this situation we will do our best to gather as much information as possible and share this with the community and users of Flits Wallet. The whole team is working on resolving the issue, but we kindly ask to not open a support ticket about Masternodes that are offline, we are working on the issue and we want all resources focussing on resolving this situation. We will keep everyone up-to-date on the situation through our channels. As for now we need to wait on OVH to provide us with a reply and get the servers back online. Until then we are not able to provide a clear timeline or an ETA for a solution. After the servers are back in our possession we will probably need to redeploy the offline nodes in batches, to not stress the system too much and prevent other issues from happening.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience and understand the frustration some of you may have, but we hope we can count on your support and trust for us to resolve the issue in a timely manner. Again Flits Wallet and Decenomy are working on resolving this issue, so please do not flood the channels and support with questions about this situation. We will keep everyone posted on the progression and a timeline after we have more information on the situation.
Kind regards,
Team Flits
